About the Bodega

The Bodega is one of downtown Conway's premier retailers and is the largest independently owned kitchen and dining store in South Carolina. In an era dominated by national chain stores that produce one cookie cutter retailer after another, the Bodega stands as a beacon of light for fastidious shoppers.

It's probably best to explain what the Bodega is by describing its parts. Let's start with the kitchen, many visitors say that we're like a Williams Sonoma or Sur la Table. We carry top brands like All-Clad, Emile Henry, Wusthof, Staub, and more. If you like kitchen gadgets you'll find hundreds to choose from. Where we differ from the norm is with our selection of product for the commercial chef and hospitality professional. We have chef's jackets, commercial cutlery and tools, wine keys, and culinary student supplies. Don't assume it's just a kitchen store, as this department accounts for less than 40% of the total sales.

Tucked away in the back of the store is a most impressive selection of wine and beer you'll find in the area. From Crane Lake to Cakebread there's a wine for every budget and occasion. Our staff is always there to help if you need it. The prices are amazing for such a small shop. Due to the ever fluctuating costs of wine it is impossible for any store to be the best price on everything. However the Bodega manages to pull of some serious deals. If you don't see your favorite wine, just make a special request. We can order any wine you request if it is available in the state. We also have some of the best craft beers in the world.

Our 2006 expansion made room for an impressive array of serving dishes and top of table items. Four dining tables exhibit center pieces, flatware, and linens to meet your entertaining needs. Every season brings new colors and fresh ideas for setting a table. The Italian hand crafted dinnerware from Vietri adorns a table in the front window. Offerings from Gurglepot, Tag, Demdaco, Mud Pie, and Park Designs color the other walls and table tops.

There is much more to discover at the Bodega. You can shop fine stemware and glasses from Riedel. Candles from Aspen Bay and Colonial fill five tall cabinets. If you're thirsty try a sample of the gourmet coffee or loose teas. Take home some of the gourmet food offerings for dinner or satisfy your sweet tooth by making your own candy. Oh, did I forget to mention there's even more upstairs?
